John Rosenwald to Speak at Commencement

John Rosenwald, Jr., Vice Chairman of The Bear Stearns Companies, to Speak at Commencement

Mr. E. John Rosenwald, Jr., Vice Chairman of The Bear Stearns Companies, will deliver a graduation address at Brandeis International Business School.

Graduating students and faculty members from the Brandeis International Business School plan to benefit from the advice of a business and philanthropic leader on Sunday, May 20th during the program's mini-commencement ceremony on the Waltham, Massachusetts campus.

The New York-born Mr. Rosenwald is a graduate of Deerfield Academy, Dartmouth College, and the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration. He has been with The Bear Stearns Companies Inc. since 1954. In 1962 he was elected a General Partner and shortly thereafter was elected to the Bear Stearns Executive Committee. When Bear Stearns went public in 1985, Mr. Rosenwald was elected a Member of the Office of the President. He was elected Vice Chairman of The Bear Stearns Companies Inc. in 1988.

Mr. Rosenwald serves as a Member of the Board of Trustees of numerous non-profit organizations including Brandeis University, Carnegie Hall, Dartmouth College, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Mount Sinai-NYU Health System, New York University, NYU Hospitals Center and Teachers College, Columbia University. Mr. Rosenwald also serves on the Board of Directors of Hasbro, Inc., in addition to the Board of Bear Stearns. Mr. Rosenwald is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and a member of the Harvard University John F. Kennedy School of Government Dean's Councils. In June 2002, he was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Laws at Dartmouth College.
