March 13, 2008

February 14th marked the 9th annual Career Fair which attracted numerous blue chip firms interested in hiring our students. Katherine Prum, responsible for Employer Relations said, "We are delighted at the breadth and depth of this year's participating companies." She was especially pleased with the turnout given the current challenging market conditions. "We covered a vast range of firms, including financial services, technology, consumer products and consulting," she continued.

Representatives from firms such as Blue Cross Blue Shield, Oracle, Legal Seafoods, Merrill Lynch and Prudential financial were on hand to answer student questions, present company information and solicit resumes.

Carter Yeager, representing Virtua Research Corporation, was particularly enthusiastic about the prospect of placing IBS students for internships and full time positions. The company, founded in 2004, has a strong track record of hiring from IBS. "We've had great results," he said. "IBS is clearly preparing people well for our firm, so we keep coming back," he added.

MA candidate of IBS Marion Tabourier found the event to be extremely valuable. "These are interesting companies here, especially given today's job market," she said.
