Dean Magid recently shared the panel's vision for online learning at the American Council on Education's Annual Meeting held this February. Key findings included the following:
- The panel views online learning as a critical means of expanding access to higher education
- Growth in online enrollments is promising, having averaged more than 21% per year over the past five years
- Online learning connects institutions to the global community, especially by attracting students outside their traditional service areas
Moving forward, a goal of the panel is to begin the process of identifying some of the key factors that lead to successful online programs at public colleges and universities.
