Brandeis International Business School

Daniel Willis ’27: Searching for banking internships and catching up on Economics homework

We asked current students and recent graduates to share how they spend a typical day at Brandeis

7:30 A.M.

Good morning! I get dressed and quickly eat a granola bar before heading to class. My suitemate drives us to the International Business School since we’re in the same class.

8 A.M.

I’m an Economics major at Brandeis University and my first class of the day is Financial Accounting. We are learning about depreciation expenses.

9:20 A.M.

Class is over so I order a sandwich from Einstein Bros. Bagels. I eat it as I check the news. The New York Times, Wall Street Journal and Boston Globe are my go-to news sources.

10 A.M.

I head to the library, a five minute walk away, and read an assigned article about parental leave for a class tomorrow.

11:30 A.M.

I meet with my Economics of Race and Gender professor to ask a few questions about the indifference curve.

12:30 P.M.

Lunch time! Across from the library, I eat lunch in Usdan Kitchen with friends before heading back to the library to work on a paper for my law class. I also send emails to local banks inquiring about internship opportunities.

3 P.M.

I head to the Gosman gym to go for a run and lift. It’s a short walk from the library, and students can access it almost any time of the day.

6 P.M.

I walk to the Sherman Dining Hall for a relaxing dinner with some of my friends on the cross country team.

8 P.M

I walk back to my dorm and spend the rest of my evening doing homework and hanging out with my suitemates.
