To advance the practice of economics and the application of economic principles for the greater good.
The National Association for Business Economics (NABE) is the premier professional association for business economists and others who use economics in the workplace.
Since 1959, NABE has attracted the most prominent figures in economics, business, and academia through highly regarded conferences, educational and career development offerings, industry surveys, and unparalleled networking opportunities.
Through our partnership with Brandeis University, NABE helps students prepare for and meet the requirements for the Certified Business Economist® (CBE) professional certification while completing the MA in International Economics & Finance degree.
According to NABE, the CBE is a symbol of distinction that demonstrates mastery of the body of knowledge critical for a successful career in the field. Earning and maintaining the CBE enhances your ability to stay current and competitive, improves your on-the-job performance, documents your standing as a leader in the profession, and ensures that your professional achievements and growth are formally recognized.
NABE hosts a Policy Conference each spring in Washington, D.C., as well as an Annual Meeting held in a different U.S. city on a rotating basis. Both events are open to Brandeis students. Brandeis CSE has funded these events for students in the past, and NABE also provides full scholarships.
After becoming registered with the national organization by attending an event student members will gain access to valuable professional resources, including:
As a CBE University Partner, Brandeis student members are eligible to apply for NABE’s many scholarships. These scholarships allow students to attend NABE seminars and conferences at no charge. Several Brandeis students have won these scholarships, and we encourage all students to apply!
NABE membership is organized into subject-oriented Roundtables, including:
