Career Strategies Center Industry Treks

Industry treks enable students to network with professionals and gain insight in the fields they wish to work in after graduation.

Brandeis International Business School (IBS) students have the opportunity to attend industry treks in cities around the world. Trips range from day-long excursions to week-long programs that help students learn more about companies, meet alumni and understand career resources within target industries. Along the way, they gain a sense of the culture, day-to-day work life and typical career paths associated with their area of interest. Industry treks serve as a unique, hands-on resource through which students can generate new ideas about how to approach their career and successfully take advantage of the opportunities available to them.

His Experience: "I'm interested in startups and San Francisco is a major hub for that industry. I enjoyed talking with alumni, especially those from Facebook, ZenDesk and Kiva. When I visited Kiva, I was struck by the vibe and culture - you could sense a difference [from other places]. I really liked how their company was structured as a startup looking to create social impact."
