Get to know Lillian!
What's a fun fact about you?
In my free time, I like to read, write, and collage. I always have a running list of short story ideas in my phone and a pile of magazines in my home waiting to be cut apart for the sake of art.
Could you tell us a bit about your background?
I grew up and currently live in Worcester, Massachusetts. Growing up, I was always always interested in art and creating new media, be it paints, collages, pottery, or short stories. I completed my undergraduate education at Emerson College, receiving a degree in journalism and minors in writing and women, gender, and sexuality studies. There, I spent most of my time writing, editing, styling, illustrating, directing, designing, and marketing content for various magazines on campus. It was there that I truly developed my talent and love for marketing.
After graduating into a global pandemic, I moved home and started doing marketing for my local community center. During such a hard time for community connection around the globe, we reinvented everything from design layout to strategy. Everything was changing. Everything was new. A lot of that experience shaped how I view marketing itself: connection.
In my free time, I still dabble throughout the arts and writing spheres of my past; painting landscapes at the beach, doodling, collaging and scrapbooking, pottery hand-building, and writing short stories. I also find that traveling keeps my creative juices fresh. I love exploring new places, foods, and experiences. This year, I’ve enjoyed trips to Edinburgh, Copenhagen, Vegas, Washington DC, Burlington, Montreal, New York City, and Chatham.
What attracted you to Brandeis Online? What inspired you to work for Brandeis Online?
I have always been interested in the balance of research activity and arts community at Brandeis. I even toured when looking for colleges myself. So, when I was looking for a larger institution as an opportunity for personal and professional growth, I thought of Brandeis immediately.
I truly appreciate the balance here at the Rabb School of a small tight-knit team within a larger university. I am excited to be a part of that.
What are the responsibilities of your role at Brandeis Online?
The majority of my responsibilities at Brandeis Online will be setting up informational emails for prospective students, managing social media campaigns, maintaining the website, and generally creating content for the benefit of Brandeis Online and the Rabb School.
What excites you the most about your new position? What are you most looking forward to?
I’m looking forward to learning about the behind-the-scenes of the amazing community I’ve witnessed at Brandeis Online. I'm also excited to connect prospective students with the programs that will help them grow and thrive here at Brandeis. I can’t wait to use my creativity to craft those important connections.
