Professional Development Awards for Graduate Students

These awards are available to support graduate students in pursuing professional development opportunities and training. Students may receive one such award per academic year, and it does not preclude them from receiving a conference or research award in the same year. Eligibility
- Active graduate student in a former GSAS program
- Must be in good academic standing in their program
- Professional development opportunity must take place between July 1, 2025 and June 30, 2026
Awards for Professional Development Expenses
- Activities funded may include internships, registration, transportation to companies, participation in treks, additional skill development courses, local networking events, certifications, and/or NSPN sci comm courses.
- Exclusions: no food, alcohol
- If you are attending an academic conference, please apply to the master's conference awards or PhD conference awards instead. Please note that we only support conference attendance expenses if you are officially accepted to present a poster or paper or participate in the formal program.
Amount
- Up to $500 per applicant
Application and Review Process
- Professional Development Award Application Form
- Applications will be reviewed and approved on a rolling basis (within two weeks of submission) by the Assistant Provost for Academic Affairs.
- Please note that there are limited award funds available, so apply as soon as your participation in the activity is confirmed.
- The funding will be awarded on a first-come/first-served basis. Once the funding has been fully awarded, the application will close.
