Spaces for Graduate Students

There are several spaces on campus specifically designated for graduate students:

Gerstenzang Graduate Student Center

The Gerstenzang Graduate Student Center, located on the main floor of the Gerstenzang Science Library, is a place to relax, socialize with friends, study, attend programs and enjoy complimentary snacks and beverages. Additionally, a lactation room is available by email request to graduateaffairs@brandeis.edu

World Court

An atrium with glass walls and small tables and chairsThe World Court is an open space located in the Samuel Lemberg Academic Center and is typically open from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. In addition to seating, the World Court hosts Waku Waku Ramen, which serves ramen, rice bowls, pastries, and coffee. Waku Waku is open Mondays through Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is typically closed during breaks.

Zinner Forum

An atrium with chairs, tables, and various flags on the wall.The Zinner Forum is an open space located in the Schneider Building and is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. It is accessible and adjacent to vending machines and water filling stations.

Women’s Studies Research Center - Study Area and Work Space

The Women’s Studies Research Center has several cubicled workstations in the Epstein building for Brandeis advanced doctoral students (ABD) to use. Available on a first-come, first-served basis, each workstation holds a desk and chair and can be used on a daily basis (they may not be reserved in advance). Two longer-term, locked cubicles are available for rostered WSRC Dissertation Scholars. The Epstein building can be found at the bottom of campus and offers a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a full kitchen.

Library

The Library provides a range of rooms and spaces available for graduate students, including quiet study spaces, group study spaces, carrels, and research rooms for ABD doctoral candidates. They also have locker space where students can store their belongings. Office Space

Some Departments and Programs have limited office space available. Check with your Director of Graduate Study and Department Administrator.
