Health and Wellness Promotion

Wellness Programmers

The Wellness Programmers are a group of staff and student leaders from across campus who support, organize, and implement health and wellness programming at Brandeis.

The Wellness Programmers meet on the first Thursday of every month. If you are interested in joining the Wellness Programmers, please contact Leah Berkenwald.

Wellness Programmers Group Goals

  1. Increase communication and awareness between departments around health and wellness programming and events (i.e. keeping each other apprised of upcoming programs and events).
  2. Promote collaboration between departments on health and wellness-related programs and events, including but not limited to supporting, organizing, or participating in campus-wide efforts such as Stressbusters or themed weeks.
  3. Support and recognize the efforts of departments engaging in health and wellness programming across campus.

Past Programs

Eat, Sleep, Move Week

2020 has not been an easy year, and the transition to winter brings with it additional challenges to our physical, emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing. The goal of Eat, Sleep, Move Week is to remind us of the importance of these simple but vital self-care fundamentals: eating well, sleeping well, and moving our bodies.

Wellness Week

Wellness Week aims to lift spirits as we transition from winter to spring. Programs will highlight mental health promotion and create opportunities to relieve stress and build community.

Stressbusters

Stressbusters are events and programs to help students de-stress and practice good self-care during final exams.

Sleep Week

This week aimed to raise awareness about the importance of sleep for learning, physical health, and mental well-being, to educate the community about strategies for getting better sleep, and to bring community members together to create a more sleep-friendly campus.
