The Hornstein Advantage
Expand All
Your curriculum includes opportunities to engage with key Jewish nonprofit leaders around the world.
Students who come to campus visit Jewish organizations in the greater Boston area and beyond, and will access stimulating fieldwork projects.
Online students also have the opportunity to connect with Jewish nonprofit professionals through real-time and real-world interactions via project work and assignments.
One of the key tenets of the Hornstein program is to empower students to build deep connections with the Israeli community, particularly at this critical moment for the global Jewish community.
All master's degree students are required to take a seminar course on Israel. The seminar examines the complex and nuanced contemporary issues in Israeli society and its relationship with diaspora communities. Degree students - both online and on-campus - have the opportunity to attend the fully-subsidized Myra Kraft Seminar in Israel; an intensive study trip that serves as a key community-building experience within the cohorts.
Whether you’re new to the Jewish communal space or are looking to advance within the organization you currently work for, Hornstein is your path to a meaningful, rewarding career in Jewish community leadership.
From federations and Hillels to JCC, advocacy organizations, camps, schools and start-ups, the Hornstein curriculum prepares you to make a powerful and immediate impact. Additionally, you’ll benefit from the close connections you make with Hornstein
faculty and
alumni, who gladly serve as mentors and offer ways to help you expand your professional network.
Learn your way, wherever you are. Hornstein is proud to offer two fully online, part-time Jewish Professional Leadership programs: a 34-credit MA and a 12-credit master’s certificate that is stackable onto the MA. Both are ideal options if you’re a working professional who would like to progress your career without leaving your current job or relocating to the Boston area.
As a Hornstein alum, you'll join a network of Jewish professionals who are deeply committed to fostering a vibrant, supportive Hornstein community. Hornstein has more than 760 alumni, many of whom serve as coaches through our mentoring program. Others lecture in our classes, network with students during the Israel seminar, and participate in our immersive on-campus experience.
