Benefits Summary


To access and review your current benefits information:
  1. Log in to Workday.
  2. Enter your Brandeis username and password.
  3. Under “Applications”, select “Benefits”.
  4. Scroll down to the "View" section and select "Benefit Elections".
You will be provided with a list of benefit plans indicating your participation.  You may further access and/or update individual benefits by clicking on the type of benefit you wish to review.

To review and update personal information for your covered dependents enrolled in your medical and/or dental insurance plan:

  1. Click on “Medical Insurance" and/or "Dental Insurance".
  2. You will be given a list of dependents that are enrolled in your medical and/or dental plan, if any.
  3. Click on the name of the covered dependent you wish to review.
  4. You will be given the personal information that we have on record.  Note the address field defaults to your address.
  5. Click the “Edit” button if you wish to make any changes or updates.
  6. You may update name, gender, date of birth, Social Security Number, relationship, address or phone number.  You cannot add a new dependent to your medical and/or dental insurance membership via Benefits Summary. Any updates that you make for your covered dependents will be sent to the insurance carrier on the weekly file transmission of our enrollments.
  7. Click “Save” button.
To review and update personal information for your group term life insurance covered beneficiary(ies):
  1. Click on “Group Term Life Insurance”.
  2. You will be given a list of your covered beneficiary(ies) and allocation of benefits, if any.
  3. Click on the name of the covered beneficiary you wish to review.
  4. You will be given the personal information that we have on record.  Note the address field defaults to your address.
  5. Click the “Edit” button if you wish to make any changes or updates.
  6. You may update name, gender, date of birth, Social Security Number, relationship, address or phone number. 
  7. Click “Save” button.
To change the allocation of benefits for your group term life insurance:
  1. Click on “Group Term Life Insurance”.
  2. You will be given a list of your covered beneficiary(ies) and allocation of benefits, if any.
  3. Click the “Edit” button.
  4. You will be given a list of dependents/beneficiary(ies) that are listed in PeopleSoft.
  5. You may change the allocation of benefits by entering a percentage amount next to their name and/or change their allocation of benefits from primary to contingent beneficiary.  Note the total allocation of benefits for primary and contingent must equal 100%.
  6. Click the “Update Totals” button.
  7. Click the “Save” button.
To add or change your group term life insurance beneficiary(ies):
  1. Click on “Group Term Life Insurance”.
  2. You will be given a list of your covered beneficiary(ies) and allocation of benefits, if any.
  3. Click the “Edit” button.
  4. You will be given a list of dependents/beneficiary(ies) that are listed in PeopleSoft.
  5. Click the link “Add a New Beneficiary”.
  6. You must enter the required fields for each new beneficiary.  The address fields defaults to your address however you may update this field to another address.
  7. Click the “Save” button.
  8. Click the link “Return to Change Current Beneficiaries and Allocations”
  9. Enter the percentage of benefits under the primary or contingent allocation.
  10. Click the “Update Totals” button.  Note the total allocation of benefits for primary and contingent must equal 100%.
  11. Click the “Save” button.
