Indigenous Peoples Day
Indigenous Peoples Day is usually celebrated at Brandeis on the second Monday in October.
The holiday is marked by a campus-wide day of learning, sponsored by the Intercultural Center, that focuses on the culture, history and struggles of Native peoples. In past years, this has included a series of discussions, led by ICC scholars and activists, on topics ranging from homelessness among indigenous populations to activism in Latin American countries as well as culturally relevant film screenings.
The next Indigenous Peoples Day Teach-In will be held on Monday, Oct. 7, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Intercultural Center. Watch this space for a schedule of events.
