Kay Chernush is an award-winning photographer with 30 years of experience in commercial and fine art photography. Her on-going multi-media project on human trafficking seeks to amplify the voices of victims and reframe how the subject is portrayed and perceived,  raising awareness and inspiring action.

In 2005, on assignment for the U.S. State Department's Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons (G/TIP), Kay Chernush took these photographs of human trafficking and slavery in India, Thailand, Italy, and Hong Kong. They were published in the State Department's 2005 Trafficking in Persons Report and on G/TIP's website.
