Duo Mobile Application Update
DUO app updates required by March 31st, 2026
What’s happening: Duo Security is ending support for older versions of its mobile app to improve security. After March 31, versions earlier than 4.85.0 will stop working for multifactor authentication at Brandeis University.
ITS recommends that all Duo app users update the Duo app to version 4.85.0 or later. Most users will already have this update or a more recent one (NOTE: version 4.104.0 is later than 4.85.0, the second number is separate, not a decimal value).
This update requires at least Android 11 and iOS 16 or later. If your device is not running (or does not support) Android 11 or iOS 16 or later, you have the option to install the Duo app on a different device, or to set up an alternative form of authentication.
ITS recommends using a mobile device capable of supporting the latest version of Android or iOS for Duo authentication.
