Join the Brandeis Undergraduate Library Council!
The Brandeis Undergraduate Library Council advises Brandeis Library staff on library services, resources, communications, and facilities. The council aims to build a library community by connecting librarians with students, to ensure that the library is both relevant and useful to Brandeis undergraduate students.
Members also assist with promoting library services and activities. In previous years, the Undergraduate Library Council has helped get filtered water bottle filling stations and bike desks for the library, and has provided advice on library hours, the library website, and other library initiatives.
We are currently accepting applications!
Please Note: the application uses Google Forms. If you are unable to access Google Forms where you are located, please email email@example.com and we can send you an alternate version.
Membership & Meetings
The Brandeis Undergraduate Library Council has 10-15 student members. It is chaired by Jen Giordano, User Experience Librarian, with assistance from other library staff.
Meetings are held monthly and for Fall 2021, they will be held in hybrid format, so members can attend meetings in the Library or via Zoom. Specific dates and times will be decided based on members’ schedules.
How to Apply
Any enrolled Brandeis undergraduate is welcome to apply by filling out the Brandeis Undergraduate Library Council Application Form. Application deadline is October 4, 2021. Applications received after that date will be reviewed if additional openings occur during the year.
In selecting members, we aim for a committee that represents the diverse academic interests, experiences, and social identities of the Brandeis undergraduate population, including those who have been underrepresented in higher education.
