Joyce Andler

Joyce Antler is the Samuel J. Lane Professor Emerita of American Jewish History and Culture, and Professor Emerita of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Brandeis University.

Professor Antler's latest book, "Jewish Radical Feminism: Voices from the Women's Liberation Movement," published by New York University Press, tells the stories of over forty women’s liberationists and identified Jewish feminists who profoundly influenced second-wave feminism. Professor Antler is also the author of the prize-winning book, "You Never Call! You Never Write! A History of the Jewish Mother," and of "The Journey Home: How Jewish Women Shaped Modern America." Her edited books in Jewish history include "Talking Back: Jewish Women in American Popular Culture;" "America and I: Short Stories by American Jewish Women Writers," and "Why Jewish Women’s History Matters," in honor of Gail Reimer. Additional books include "Lucy Sprague Mitchell: The Making of a Modern Feminist;" "Year One of the Empire: A Play of American Politics, War and Protest" (with Elinor Fuchs); and the co-edited anthology, "The Challenge of Feminist Biography: Writing the Lives of Modern American Women."

Hannah Safran is a feminist, peace and lesbian activist. Her research on the history of feminist activism in Israel came out as a book in 2006. She has published extensively on women's studies in Israel, the history of the peace movement and on the struggle for lesbian rights. She is a founding member of the Haifa Feminist Institute at Isha L'Isha where she is a volunteer and a board member.
