1. Cleveland Lewis ’79 was named MVP of the 1976 NCAA Division III national championship game.

2. Men’s soccer coach Michael Coven has taken eight more teams to the NCAA tournament, including a second-place finish in 1984 and a third place finish in 1981. In 2007, he became the 10th man in Division III history, and the second from New England, to register 400 career wins.

3. Coven and his wife welcomed their first child three days after the game. She owes her middle name, Elizabeth, to the game site, Elizabethtown.

4. Eight individual team members, and the team as a whole, were inducted into the Brandeis Athletics Hall of Fame.

5. The 1983 cross-country team, coached by Norm Levine, won Brandeis’ only other NCAA Division III national championship.
