Julian Koss ’52, of Sarasota, Florida, on Aug. 28, 2022. A deep-thinking, hard-working man who helped organize his class’s 50th Reunion, Julian often said that Brandeis taught him how to think. Survived by partner Penny Peirez Abrams ’52, three daughters, six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Marvin March ’52, P’93, P’94, of Woodland Hills, California, on Oct. 28. A loyal alumnus and proud Brandeis parent, Marvin was nominated for five Academy Awards for Best Art Direction. Survived by wife Rita ’64, daughter Keira Marcus ’94, and stepdaughter Dania Sacks March ’93.

Shirley Harrisburg Korobkin ’53, of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, on Oct. 26. After earning a master’s degree in education, she taught for more than 30 years, sharing her love of reading and grammar, and bringing music and humor into her lessons via her portable piano. Survived by husband Harvey, three sons, eight grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter.

Elise Cunin Sigal ’54, of Oakland, California, on Oct. 30. A 20-year volunteer at the Arnold Arboretum and chair of the Newton (Massachusetts) Creative Arts Committee, she shared her husband Marlowe’s passion for early music, antiques, historic homes, and museums. Survived by two children.

Jo Kadis ’56, of Palo Alto, California, on Aug. 9, 2022. An avid traveler, she ran her Catering Caravan, known for its Moroccan banquets, for 25 years, and enjoyed volunteering as a guide on trips to many events and locations. Survived by family and friends.

Henry Grossman ’58, of New York City, on Nov. 27. A prolific photojournalist, whose portraits of the Beatles, John F. Kennedy, Nelson Mandela, and countless other notables appeared in The New York Times, Life, and other major publications, he captured more private moments of John, Paul, George, and Ringo inside and outside the recording studio than any other photographer. Survived by a son and a daughter.

Lynn Walzer Elgart ’59, Brandeis National Committee, of Longboat Key, Florida, on Oct. 31. Married to big band leader Larry Elgart for 55 years, Lynn studied at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture; managed Larry’s orchestra; and enjoyed interior design, literature, jewelry design, dance, and music. Survived by a stepson.

Ruth Nechis Neiberg ’59, P’87, G’24, of Newton Centre, Massachusetts, on July 21, 2022. With her husband of 58 years, she enjoyed camper travel, hiking, cookouts, solving puzzles, and gardening. Survived by husband Norman; three children, including Joanne Neiberg Gladstone ’87, Heller MM’05; and six grandchildren, including Max Neiberg ’24.
