Teaching Bible 2005 was an occasion for the presentation, investigation, and discussion of ideas about the purposes and practices of teaching Bible, with outstanding teachers from a variety of settings. Each session was constructed with an eye towards fostering conversation and interchange, both between presenters and respondents and with the audience. The focus was not on new techniques and methods, but rather on the ideas that inform the decisions that teachers make about what to teach and how. Thus, the conference was an opportunity for intellectual growth and exploration, for presenters and participants alike.
