The Brandeis University Department of Athletics inducted three former Judges student-athletes and a longtime coach into the Joseph M. Linsey Brandeis Athletics Hall of Fame during a ceremony on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016.

The Inductees included:

Jim Zotz, who was inducted in the contributor category. Zotz is considered the architect of Brandeis Swimming and Diving, serving as the program’s head coach of both the men’s and women’s teams from 1978 to 2010. In that role, he was twice named the New England Division III Coach of the Year and twice led the University Athletic Association Coaching Staff of the Year. Zotz coached 15 All-Americans, 44 College Swim Coaches of America All-Academic teams, 67 New England Champions and 30 All-UAA performers in his tenure.

Ken Hannan ’95, of the men’s soccer team, was the University Athletic Association Player of the Year in 1994, earning All-America honors in the process. He helped the Judges win an ECAC Division III New England title that season, the first in program history. Hannan was named to the UAA Silver Anniversary team in 2014. With 79 points, he graduated seventh and is ranked currently 12th on the Judges’ career scoring list.

Mariko (Tansey Holbrook) Neveu ’03, of the women’s track and field and cross-country teams, is a nine-time All-American – three times each during the cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field seasons. She was the 2002 UAA cross country champion, when she finished second at the NCAA Division III Championships, the best finish ever by a Brandeis woman at nationals. She won 12 All-New England honors with two titles and 12 All-UAA honors with seven championships during her tenure with the Judges, earning a spot on the UAA Silver Anniversary team.

Bryan Lambert ’05, of the men’s basketball and baseball teams, was one of the last great two-sport student-athletes at Brandeis. He ranks eighth on the basketball team’s career scoring list with 1500 points and is sixth in career rebounds with 775. Lambert was named All-UAA in each of his four seasons, earning a spot on the UAA Silver Anniversary teams. Lambert is also baseball’s single-season and career leader in saves with 12 and 19, respectively. Lambert’s 12 saves led all of Division III in 2005, and he also hit seven home runs as a first-baseman that year despite not having played the field since his freshman season.

The 2016 Hall of Fame induction ceremony took place as part of Homecoming Weekend.
