Why I Vote - Hangil Ryu
Time: 00:01:11

As opening graphic appears on screen:

On the left-hand side of the graphic a portrait of Hangil Ryu is seen with a close-up image of red, white and blue "VOTE" button is in the background. One the right-hand side of the image in large white with a blue stoke lettering reads "WHY I VOTE" laid over a slate colored background.

The graphic then cuts to video of Hangil Ryu seated. A lower third graphic with their name and title transition on briefly -

"Hangil Ryu '20, Alumnus"

They address the camera:

"Hi! My name is Hangil Ryu. I'm a 2020 grad, major in philosophy, minors in business

and CAST, and the reason why I vote is because I'm a Christian.

And as a Christian, my God tells me that I need to care for the oppressed and stand for the immigrant and defend the rights of the poor and needy, and I can do that through voting!

And I can give those who are voiceless a voice.

And another reason why I vote is because I can.

And for quite a while I could not vote because I was not a citizen, but having become a citizen it's pretty amazing that I have a voice in directing where society goes and not everyone in the United States, much less the world, has that and so to be able to exercise my voice is an amazing thing.

So I hope you'll vote as well.

And those are the reasons why I vote."

The video then transitions out to show a white background where blue text reading "Brandeis University" fades into the screen. A few frames later the text "go.brandeis.edu/votedeis" also fades into the screen after a few seconds the screen fades to black.
