Dear Investigators:

Today the NIH issued Guide Notice NOT-OD-26-005 stating that they will retroactively extend October and November due dates.  This extension is intended to allow applicants to have access to NIH staff and the Help Desk during application development. 

Applications submitted in October/November will be processed in the coming weeks, however at this time, we believe that these extensions may permit the withdrawal and resubmission of NIH applications that were submitted for October and November deadlines. As such, this may be an opportunity for additional time to develop your materials and potentially strengthen applications.  We are awaiting additional information about the revised deadlines from NIH.  

Your options at this point:

 If you are satisfied with your proposal submissions for October/November, no further steps are needed. 

1. If you wish to withdraw and resubmit your proposal from October/November, please notify DISC Pre-Award as soon as possible. We will add this request to our queue and be in touch with you as we receive further guidance from the NIH about the process, applicability, and internal deadlines.
2. If you did not submit an application for October/November but wish to, complete the Notification Form as soon as possible. 

 Kindly note that as the holidays are approaching, DISC Pre-Award staff time is limited due to previously-scheduled time out of office.  We will do our best to accommodate these revised deadlines, as needed.
