In order to become a change maker, you must understand the history and context of the society we live in today. If you’re passionate about making the world a better place, then this program is for you. Grown from the 2020 and 2021 summer intensive program, Precollege Programs now offers the Race, Inequality, and Social Justice free during the academic year. In a 10-week synchronous course, you will study the history of racism and discrimination in the U.S., recognize how this persists today, and learn – or build on existing – skills to be an anti-racist change maker. All Academic Immersion programs utilize an online online learning space to enable you to develop important academic skills; and create a capstone project suitable for inclusion in your college resume.  You’ll get the support of University teaching assistants and program-specific rubrics to guide your work and your growth.  We estimate you’ll spend 2 – 3 hours per week during the spring semester exploring our innovative and important programming.
