Meet our Faculty
Raj completed his PhD at the University of California, Irvine in the humanities with a concentration in modern continental European philosophy and critical theory at the Critical Theory Institute. He studied under the French philosopher Jacques Derrida, the founder of deconstruction. Raj teaches courses that focus on critical race theory, gender and sexuality studies, and intersectionality in domestic and global contexts. His research is on comparative contexts of social exclusion, marginalization, and oppression of racial, ethnic, gender, sexuality minorities and people with disabilities in cross-cultural contexts and theories and practices to promote human rights platforms and advance social justice.
