Race, Inequality and Social Justice
June 21 - 26, 2020
The history of slavery, lynching and segregation has led to a legacy of racial injustice and economic inequality. Students in this course will explore several of the key issues that are critical to understanding both this legacy and its solution. Classroom lectures and discussions will highlight racial disparities in issues ranging from housing access, to foster care placement, to access to higher education. Students will end the week by presenting on the range of organizations – local to national, small to large – that seek to bring change to this serious and important issue.
Program Fee: $2990In the Brandeis tradition of offering academic access to all students, the App Design Program seeks each year to provide a limited number of scholarships to outstanding applicants who otherwise might not be able to afford this exceptional opportunity.
