President’s Discretionary Days

Dear Faculty and Staff,
To help everyone make their plans for this calendar year, I want you to know that I have approved the following President’s Discretionary Days to allow you additional time to spend with friends and family.

Friday, May 24 — the university closes at 2 p.m. in advance of the Memorial Day holiday.

Friday, July 5, following the Independence Day holiday.

Thursday, December 26, through Tuesday, December 31. This is in addition to the existing Christmas and New Year holidays of Wednesday, December 25, and Wednesday, January 1.
As in the past, departments that must remain open will inform any staff members who are required to work all or some of the days in the holiday schedule.
Employees should check with their supervisors regarding scheduling. Staff members who are required to work these holidays are entitled to take other days off. Please accept my thanks for modifying your schedule, if necessary.
