SciFest

Aug. 2, 2019

To All Members of the Brandeis Community,

You are warmly invited to attend the SciFest IX Summer Symposium “A Celebration of Brandeis’ Undergraduate Science Education.” This will take place on Thursday, August 8 in the Shapiro Campus Center between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m., followed by a poster session in the Shapiro Science Center between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Visit the event website.

In the morning, there will be a special event in the Shapiro Campus Center theater hosted by Ron Liebowitz. Four distinguished Brandeis alums will give brief accounts of their career paths, all of which began with undergraduate research at Brandeis. The four are Dr. Ronny Drapkin, ’90, Dr. Ruth Charney, ’72; Dr. Robert Rottapel ’79 ; and Dr. Leslie Meltzer, ’03. The talks will be accessible to all audiences, and I hope you will join us. There will be a sandwich and salad lunch served afterwards.

During the afternoon poster session in the Shapiro Science Center, between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., there will be over 120 science undergraduates (a new record) showing their posters and eager to explain to you the research they’ve carried out over the past 10 weeks.

We hope to see you there.

Lisa M. Lynch, Provost
