Hybrid Teaching Institute and $1500 Stipend

June 12, 2020

Dear Colleagues,

As we prepare for teaching in the fall semester all faculty members, even if you are currently planning to teach your course in person, will need to be prepared to offer your course online if the need arises. In addition, there may be some students in your courses who may need to follow your course online because of health reasons or an inability to get to campus because of visa delays. The Center for Teaching and Learning has developed a Hybrid Teaching Institute to help better prepare you for these circumstances.

Faculty can sign up for 4 one hour sessions on different topics including how to provide greater equity and access for students who are learning in an online environment, how to better sustain student engagement, and metacognition and fair assessment. Faculty will have an opportunity to share materials and discuss with colleagues what has worked well. In recognition of the time that participation in this institute will require, a $1500 stipend will be provided to any faculty member (tenured, tenure track, full and part time contract, and per-course faculty) who participates in all 4 sessions. Participation in this Institute is completely voluntary and an opportunity that I hope you decide to take advantage of.

If you have not yet signed up for the Hybrid Teaching Institute you can register here: tinyurl.com/Reg-Hybrid-Inst.

Best regards,

Lisa
