OMB Memo Pausing Federal Assistance
Dear Members of the Brandeis Community,
As you’ve likely heard by now, a memorandum was issued last night by the federal Office of Management & Budget directing federal agencies to temporarily pause obligation and disbursement of federal assistance, including grants and loans to institutions. We are working closely with our colleagues in the Office of General Counsel, university administrative offices, colleagues from other institutions of higher education in Massachusetts and around the country, as well as federal agencies to understand the implications of this memorandum for the federal grants, contracts, and other assistance we receive here at Brandeis.
For now, we are continuing to learn about and monitor the situation while carrying out the day to day business of running the university, and we will continue to communicate with you as we receive specific guidance from agencies and discover the full implications of this order.
Sincerely,
Carol Fierke, PhD
Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs
