Peer Advocates
Peer advocates are graduate or undergraduate students who receive over 35 hours of advocacy training to support members of the Brandeis community who have been impacted by violence. They can share a variety of grounding techniques, information about reporting options, support you in planning for your safety and more. They can help whether you personally have experienced violence or if you are worried about a friend. They are also great listeners if you just want to talk.
You can talk to a peer advocate without an appointment from 12-5 p.m. Monday-Friday when classes are in session by coming into the office, using our online Chatbox or texting during those hours. If you'd prefer, you can also schedule a meeting with a peer advocate.
Alexis (he/him) is from Queens, New York (represent!). Outside of PARC he is on the Brandeis Latinx Student Organization e-board, involved in CAB, and tutors students at Waltham High. During his free time he likes watching new shows on Hulu, enjoys house plants, and loves to explore Boston. He is excited to join as a Peer Advocate to support the Brandeis community and to be able to be another support system on campus!

Alexis's typical office hours are Wednesdays 12-1:30pm and Fridays 12-1:30pm.
Chloe (she/her) is a junior student majoring in psychology and biology. She is an international student from China. In her free time, she loves taking photographs, reading and traveling. As a PARC team member, she would like to support people around her whenever they need it!

Danna (she/her) is majoring in HSSP (health, science, society and policy) and Biology on the pre-health track. Outside of PARC, she has been singing and performing for over 12 years for community events and concerts in NYC, volunteers as as support group facilitator for ANAD, is a research assistant for the Lifespan lab at brandeis, and more. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, lifting, tennis, caffeine, sudoku puzzles, and spending time with family and friends. She is excited to continue working as a VPE and peer advocate to educate, empower and establish a safe, supportive environment for those affected by violence.
Danna's typical office hours are Mondays 1:30-2:30pm, Wednesdays 1-3pm and Fridays 4-5pm.
Donna (she/her) is majoring in Health: Science, Society, and Policy (HSSP) on the pre-med track. Outside of PARC, she is an emergency medical technician (EMT) with the Brandeis Emergency Medical Corps (BEMCo), a fall orientation leader and the president of The Waltham Group. In her free time, she enjoys being with friends and family, reading and watching TV. As both a peer advocate and a violence prevention educator, Donna hopes to support the Brandeis community and work to make campus a safe place.

Hi, I'm Ella. I don't know for sure what I am majoring in. If you ask me, you will get a more complicated answer than you asked for! I love watching movies, being outdoors, reading and drawing. My favorite seasons are autumn and winter because nothing is better than a nice sweater (try and change my mind). I'm working at PARC to be a listener for those just looking to talk. I'm here to make Brandeis feel comfortable and safe for all of its community members.
Ella's typical office hours are Tuesdays 12-1pm, Wednesdays 1:30-2:30pm, and Thursdays 1-2:30pm.
Isaac (he/him) is double majoring in Psychology and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality studies. Outside of PARC, he loves adventuring outdoors, such as backpacking and climbing. In his free time, he loves to read and explore new places. He is thrilled to be a Peer Advocate for PARC, and is excited to provide support for his peers, and engage in efforts to make Brandeis a safer place.
Isaac's typical office hours are Tuesdays 1-2:30pm and Fridays 2-4pm.
Gabrielle "Gabby" (they/she) is intending to major in computer science and minor in African and African American studies. Outside of PARC, they serve as the publicity coordinator for the Brandeis Black Student Organization and are a member of the Rebelle Dance group. In their free time, Gabby enjoys thrifting shopping, listening to R&B and taking part in social justice initiatives. As an advocate, Gabby is hoping to offer support to her peers, and they are excited to be able to do meaningful work on campus!

Hi I'm Jovita (she/they)! I am a junior majoring in Neuroscience on the pre-dental track. I love driving, crocheting, going to concerts, and power lifting. Outside of PARC, I am the co-founder of a book club, Da Book Collective, and a member of Brandeis' BBSO and BASO. I joined PARC to support and build a space safe for people affected by violence.
Jovita's typical office hours are Mondays 2:30-4pm and Wednesdays 2:30-4pm.
Khimaya or Khim (She/Her) is from Kolkata, India, and is majoring in Neuroscience and Psychology. Outside of PARC she also works at SIMS and she is the South Asian Student Association's (SASA) Co-Event Coordinator. In her free time, she loves to watch sitcoms, run, and listen to music. Khimaya is excited to work at PARC hoping to be able to be a resource and support system to the Brandeis community while fostering a safer campus.

Ligia (she/her) is from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and is planning to major in biology and neuroscience. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and exploring Boston with friends. Ligia is excited to become a member of the PARC team and work to make Brandeis a safer community.

Maya (she/her) is from Livingston, New Jersey, and is double majoring in business and psychology. Outside of PARC, Maya is part of Sigma Delta Tau at Brandeis. In her free time, she enjoys playing soccer, hiking and going to the beach. Maya is excited to be a part of a team that helps, supports and advocates for all people in the Brandeis community.

Maya (she/her) is a junior from New Jersey, majoring in American Studies and Education. In her free time, Maya loves baking, reading, playing board games with friends, and exploring new things to do and places to go in Boston (and is always looking for recommendations!). She is so glad to be a part of the PARC team and work to make the Brandeis community safer and more supportive.

Priya (she/her/hers) is double majoring in psychology and sociology. Outside of Brandeis, she enjoys baking, reading a good book and practicing crocheting. Priya is excited to work at PARC to help foster a safe and supportive community to empower others and help them in their healing process.

Ranya (she/her) is from Riverdale, New York, and majoring in psychology and NEJES. Outside of PARC, Ranya is president of Sigma Delta Tau. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her friends, doing yoga and finding new restaurants! She is really excited about being a part of the PARC team and looks forward to supporting and empowering individuals impacted by violence.

Sam (he/him) is from Michigan and is majoring in psychology with a minor in English. In his free time, he enjoys nature, listening to music and playing tennis. Sam joined PARC as a way to help create a more supported and safe student body.

Vidushi (she/her) is from Mumbai, India, and majoring in economics, international and global studies and WGS. In her free time, she likes to read and walk around exploring new places. She hopes to provide a safe space and emotional support to those who have been impacted by violence to process and heal through her work at PARC.

Zen is double majoring in sociology and CS. Besides being a member of the PARC peer advocate team, she is a member of BSAA, BSO, and the Pottery Club. In her free time, she likes to read and bake. She works for PARC because it is important to help and support those affected by violence.
