[Bonjour! Je m'appelle Catherine Theobald. Bienvenue! Hello! My name is Catherine Theobald. Welcome to French 32! This is a video to describe what we do in this third semester French class.

So, you've already had a couple of semesters of French or a few years. Maybe you need a review. This class has a lot of review. We basically don't introduce any new grammar. You should have seen all of the structures before. Everything from adjectives and their agreement, having touched verbs, passé composé, imparfait, a little bit of subjunctive, some object pronouns, the goal is here, the main speaking and expression goals are to be able to talk about grown-up topics not just family and colors, in the past, present, and future, and using the politeness tense of the conditionnel.

We use a book called Controverses. So, this is the workbook that you will buy, and it deals with controversies. So, we'll be talking about, we'll start out using things like friendship and technology before digging into some pretty meaty topics with their related vocabulary that have to do with gender, equality, sexual orientation. We get into globalization, environmental issues, access to education. We also watch a film and discuss a film during the semester and finish with a little "escale littéraire" a little bit of a literary discovery. This semester we are reading a short story on education in Haiti.

So, I hope to see you there, and thanks for watching! Bye!]
