In this class we will explore key moments in the history of Latin-American cinema. We will study contemporary cinema, new Latin-American cinema, Neo-realism, the avant guardes, and silent cinema. We´re going from the present to the past to learn how language changes, film language changes through time, how the cinema relates to important issues of the continent, and we will also work on a creative project in which we will dialog and critically think about the ways in which representation and language come together in the history of film.
