David's voice is heard saying:
"When I first began, Brandeis, it was during the pandemic in 2020, and I was doing school from home. I started out the cartoon really talking about the experience of going to college from your house. And I also tried to include characters that were going to college from the actual university, because during that year, people were doing both, and they were both strange situations. And I really wanted to kind of encapsulate that."
The video then cuts to a shot of David seated at his desk as he speaks directly to the camera:
"Hi, my name is David Shapiro, and I draw the cartoon "Campus Life Cartoons" for the Brandeis Hoot newspaper.

The poster showcases drawn cartoon characters featured in the comic strip at the top all embracing and wearing mortar boards at the top of the poster. Various other characters are seen hanging out on chairs, taking photographs with a background with trees and green grass.Black text is seen on the poster that reads: "Campus Life Year Four by David Shapiro, In the Brandeis Hoot each Friday."

"He wears a backwards baseball cap, and he kind of followed whatever I was doing. He ended up doing so when I moved back to campus, he did."

"When I studied abroad in New Zealand, I had Eddy do that as well, because I felt like I could write the best cartoons about things that I was actually going through."
The video then cuts to a wide shot of David seated at his desk in his residence hall room as he addresses the camera directly:
"I have two top favorites. In the first year, one, it was it was just at that time where people are starting to get their vaccines for COVID. So I did one where it was like..."
The video then cuts to close up of David's comic cells illustrating what he's describing:
"May 2020, and they're like asking about what kind of mask, they're wearing in May 2021. They're asking about what kind of vaccine they got. And then in soon they're asking what kind of pizza they got, and they're all hanging out together."
The video then cuts to a shot of David's desktop screen where we see his last comic strip up on display and then a close up of his laptop screen where we see his characters in graduation robes and hats.
"And I was really proud of that one. And then the one I did at the very end where all the characters graduate, and then they come back and are all sitting next to each other again for a few more minutes before they all split off in their own directions."
The video ends cutting to a blue screen with the white Brandeis University logo as the music fades out.
