Meet the Staff

Steve Pagios
Director of Student Activities

Steve joined Brandeis in the spring of 2014 as the Associate Director of Student Activities and in spring 2017 was promoted to Director. Prior to Brandeis, Steve worked at Quinnipiac University (CT) and at The University of Akron (OH). He graduated from Bowling Green State University (OH) with a master's degree in College Student Personnel and Assumption College (MA) with a bachelor's degree in Organizational Communication. At Brandeis, Steve's major responsibilities include overseeing the day to day operations of the department; advising the student programming board, Student Service Bureau, and Cholmondeley's Coffeehouse (Chum's); and providing overall support to students organizations, as needed. Outside of Brandeis, he is also heavily involved in volunteering regionally and nationally with the National Association for Campus Activities (NACA). When not wearing his "work hat," Steve can be found at a local concert, Red Sox game, or traveling the country to explore new places!

Leigh Hilderbrandt
Marketing and Box Office Manager

Leigh Hilderbrandt joined Brandeis in 2000 as the Box Office and Subscriptions Manager for the Department of Theater Arts and moved over to Student Activities in 2011 where she handles marketing for the department and manages Brandeis Tickets. Leigh coordinates with student clubs and organizations and university departments to provide ticket services for events held throughout campus, including theater performances, music concerts, cultural shows, dance parties, lectures, conferences, as well as some off-campus trips and events. Leigh also assists with planning and implementing departmental programs, including coordinating the Fall and Winter Involvement Fairs and advising the Junior Senior Formal in 2016 and 2107. Prior to Brandeis, Leigh worked at the Weston Playhouse Theatre Company in Weston, VT and the Hippodrome State Theatre in Gainesville, FL. In addition to theater, she has entertained a variety of career interests, including tour and attractions sales, 911-emergency communications, veterinary assistant, and certified personal trainer. She holds a bachelor’s degree in theater and visual arts from Penn State University. Away from Brandeis, Leigh spends time with her dogs and cats, volunteers and advocates for animal-related causes, and does DIY projects at her 1720 home.

Robert Steinberg
Student Activities Specialist

Robbie joined the Department of Student Activities in the fall of 2014. After graduating from Brandeis in 2013, he spent a year working in a variety of fields, including outdoor theater production, corporate banking, and audiovisual services for corporate events and weddings. He left Brandeis with degrees in Psychology and Education Studies, and a minor in Theater Arts. While on campus, he served as a Theater Assistant for the Shapiro Campus Center Theater, Coordinator of Student Production Services, and as President of Tympanium Euphorium. Away from work, Robbie enjoys seeing theater productions and going on adventures.

Katie McNamara 
Senior Department Coordinator

Katie McNamara joined Brandeis in 2017 as the Senior Department Coordinator of Community Service and Student Activities. Prior to Brandeis, she worked as the Campus Programs Assistant at Dexter Southfield, managing summer camp and after school programs. Katie earned her bachelor's degree from Saint Michael's College, with a major in Sociology and a minor in Psychology. Outside of Brandeis, Katie enjoys skiing in Vermont, traveling, New England sports, and spending time with friends.

Shannon Poppe
Graduate Assistant for Programming

Shannon Poppe joined Brandeis in 2017 as the Graduate Assistant for Programming. She is focused on developing the Campus Activities Board (CAB) and assisting with the Student Services Bureau. Shannon graduated from John Carroll University in May 2017 with her B.S. in Human Resource Management and Business Management. She is currently pursuing her M.A. in Higher Education with a focus in Student Affairs from Boston College. In her free time, Shannon enjoys finding new coffee shops, podcasts, and keeping up with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Elise Yonika 
Graduate Assistant for Leadership 

Elise joined Brandeis in 2017 and is working to develop new and existing resources for student leaders. After graduating from the University of Connecticut with a degree in Human Development & Family Studies and Psychology in 2014, Elise went on to work at Massachusetts Institutes of Technology managing federal sponsorship obligations in MIT’s Technology Licensing Office. She is currently pursuing her M.Ed. in Administration of Higher Education at Suffolk University. Outside of Brandeis, Elise enjoys distance running, spending time with friends, and exploring new places.
