From Bingo and Trivia to going to the beach or apple picking, the fall semester brings a wide variety of programs and events, sponsored by the Department of Student Activities.

Thursday, September 3

9:30 p.m., The Stein
Start the year off right by winning great prizes! Bring your friends or make some new ones! We want to add some fun and games to your lives with prizes including Spikeball, KanJam, Cards Against Humanity, and more!

Friday, September 4

Screen on the Green: Jurassic World
8 p.m., Shapiro Campus Center, Great Lawn
A new theme park is built on the original site of Jurassic Park. Everything is going well until the park's newest attraction--a genetically modified giant stealth killing machine--escapes containment and goes on a killing spree. Sponsored by Student Events.

Brandeis Goes to the Beach
11 a.m.-5 p.m., Board buses at T-Lot
Get away from campus for some fun in the sun and sand at Carson Beach! We will provide transportation for you and your friends to go relax on the beach, play in the sand and surf, and enjoy the summer sun. Space is limited, so get your ticket soon! $5 refundable deposit required at Brandeis Tickets.

Film: Jurassic World
8 p.m., Schwartz Auditorium
Twenty-two years after the events of Jurassic Park, Isla Nublar now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World. After 10 years of operation and visitor rates declining, in order to fulfill a corporate mandate, a new attraction is created to re-spark visitors’ interest, which backfires horribly. Sponsored by Student Events.

Brandeis on the beach! Celebrate the end of summer at our own little piece of paradise, featuring cornhole, ladder ball, a tiki hut, mocktails, adirondack chairs and the music of reggae.

Food Truck Festival
Noon, Shapiro Campus Center Great Lawn
Kick off the beginning of the semester with a Food Truck Festival, featuring a variety of cuisine (including vegetarian and vegan options) and a multitude of lawn games. This will be the tastiest way to ring in the new (school) year!

24 Hour Musical

Come see fellow students put on a musical in just 24 hours! This once per year production is a show you won’t want to miss. Sponsored by Hillel Theater Group and Tympanium Euphorium.

18 Hole Mini Golf
1 p.m.–5 p.m., Campuswide
Celebrate Labor Day with one of our favorite pastimes: Mini golf! There are 18 holes in various locations throughout campus. Stop by one hole, and we’ll give you a map to the rest! Some locations will even have free food!

Beyond the Wall Poster Sale

Find the perfect poster to decorate your room and make it feel like home! From music to movies to art, Beyond the Wall is sure to have a poster to add extra personality to your home away from home!

11 a.m.–6 p.m., Fenway Park
Featuring live music, celebrity appearances and free swag from more than 100 local and national sponsors, CollegeFest attracts thousands of college students each year, making it the most heavily attended back-to-school event in New England! Best of all, CollegeFest is free! You can also pre-register for special perks and VIP access. Take the MBTA Green Line  from Riverside Station to Fenway Station or provide your own transportation. Weekend Soccer Doubleheader and Bubble Soccer
2 p.m./5 p.m./7:30 p.m., Gordon Field
For the first home weekend soccer matches of the season, the women take on UMass Boston at 2 p.m. and the men play their biggest local rival, Babson College, at 5 p.m.! After the matches, stay for Bubble Soccer–a cross between zorbing and soccer. Play with your friends or against them! All are welcome and no experience required! Registration deadline is 9/8. Comedy Showcase featuring Amy Thompson ‘11 and Sam Roos ‘09
Doors at 8:30 pm; Show begins at 9 p.m. Shapiro Campus Center Theater
Amy and Sam began writing together at Brandeis in 2007, formally founding EVIL Sketch Comedy ( in 2011. Since then, they've performed seven different original shows, featuring sketches ranging from the absolutely mundane to the completely absurd. Now, you can see them right here at Brandeis!  From giant women to invisible dogs, EVIL explores the strange realm of things that make these two Brandeis University graduates giggle with mischievous glee. EVIL is always around you, inescapable and destructive.

Launch Trampoline Park
2:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m., Bus leaves from T-lot
Spend an afternoon jumping, dunking and free falling at a new 37,000 square foot state of the art trampoline park in Watertown. The park includes “The Launch Tower,” which is the only indoor stunt bag free fall in the country with a 20 foot high free fall. There are also dodgeball courts, basketball hoops, tumble tracks, a four lane foam pit and a huge main court to experience! $5 at Brandeis Tickets in the SCC atrium.

Natick Day Away

Get off campus for an afternoon to shop and dine at the Natick Mall! Bus boards at T-Lot at 1 p.m.; leave mall at 4:30 p.m. $5 refundable deposit required at Brandeis Tickets in the SCC atrium.

We have something for everyone, all under one big tent! From noon–4 p.m., shop and browse around our Farmers’ Market, featuring produce from the Farmers’ Club’s rooftop garden, as well as arts and crafts, activities, performances and demonstrations by Brandeis clubs and organizations. From 7 p.m.–11 p.m., have a blast playing Laser Tag with and against your friends!

Break the Fast
6:30 p.m.–9:30 p.m., Shapiro Campus Center Great Lawn
Please join Interim President Lisa Lynch at this year's Break the Fast, following the Yom Kippur holiday. Families and communities around the world will come together to mark the conclusion of this most sacred day on the Jewish calendar and wish each other well for the New Year. To this end, our entire campus community is invited to gather in the large tent on the Great Lawn in front of the Shapiro Campus Center to enjoy lots of delicious, kosher food.

Cash & check only at pick-your-own and much of the orchard, ATM in the farm store. Visit the appleshop, hedgemaze, tunnelmaze and farm animals.
