Transparency Data Analyst at Shire Pharmaceuticals - Waltham, MA
“I worked on analytics projects and supported the transparency team on data collection, validation and reporting. The work was closely related to the technical knowledge that I learned in my Brandeis International Business School data analytics courses. On the day I joined, Shire had acquired another firm which doubled the company's size, leading to an increase in work. It gave me the opportunity to lead projects and work with multiple business partners. After the internship ended, I was hired as a part-time analyst for the academic year.”
In our field projects course, Brandeis International Business School graduate students work under the guidance of a faculty advisor to solve real-world business problems for partners in finance, healthtech, marketing, real estate and many other fields. These unique practical, hands-on learning experiences give students the opportunity to put classroom learning into action, strengthen critical professional skills, and connect with industry insiders.
AgroFides
Our students’ coding expertise was challenged on this project, where they not only created an interactive investor dashboard, but also coded the front end to match company branding.
Anthem Sports
Students developed and coded a dashboard that funneled in key metrics for Anthem from various social media platforms.
Boston-Area Jewish Education Program (BJEP)
Students partnered with a local organization to build a partnership outreach program and develop a digital marketing strategy.

Students analyzed competitors, target consumers and user behavior, and suggested a marketing plan focused on brand visibility and user acquisition growth.

The team utilized competitor research, financial modeling, and product pricing and data analysis to recommend different lending segments.
ForwardLane
Students gained experience in investment deck research and analysis, and executed FinTech market analysis to recommend growth options.
Geode Capital Management
Students tested key banking metrics and created models to improve efficiency and profitability in different market conditions.
Powerspike
The team developed competitor research to understand Powerspike’s market position and create a value proposition for the company's marketing team to use to illustrate their uniqueness.
State Street Global Exchange (SSGX)
This project focused on crypto currency, examining the application to finance of distributed ledger technology (DLT) and the blockchain.
Vaiven
Students helped to conduct market research and prototype a mobile app focused on increasing financial literacy levels in Mexican citizens through a gamified rewards system.
Experiential learning is a pillar of every Brandeis International Business School student's education. It can happen on campus in the Bloomberg Lab, nearby in a field project class, in another country on a Hassenfield Overseas Immersion Program trip, or almost anywhere nationally or globally on an internship or industry trek.
