Brandeis International Business School

Xia Dai, MBA’20: A ‘small but mighty community’ at Brandeis

Xia DaiWhy did you choose Brandeis International Business School?

I chose the International Business School because of the STEM-designated Data Analytics concentration in the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program. It was the perfect fit for my career goals. During my time at Brandeis, I advanced both my business knowledge and technical analytics skills. I also built close relationships and a solid professional network with my professors, classmates and alumni.

How would you describe the learning environment at the International Business School?

Diverse and tight-knit! My classes were small and that offered opportunities for great discussions and engagement with professors and classmates. We all came from different backgrounds and countries, which exposed us to diverse perspectives and allowed us to learn from each other and expand our horizons during these discussions.

How did Brandeis prepare you for your career?

I partner with cross-functional stakeholders to identify business needs, and design and execute appropriate analytics solutions that measure business performance. The analytical skills I learned at Brandeis from courses like Analyzing Big Data and Information Visualization are extremely useful, as is the knowledge I gained about strategy, operations management and marketing research.

What should prospective students know about the International Business School?

Brandeis International Business School is a small but mighty community that provides plenty of opportunities not only to learn and grow professionally, but also to build lifelong relationships with professors, classmates and alumni.
