Understanding Your Security Tools

Brandeis ITS provides a suite of security tools to safeguard the digital health of university computing resources, data, and accounts.

In an effort to ensure that Brandeis maintains a secure computing environment, the following security tools are installed on university-owned computers to ensure they meet the necessary security protection requirements as outlined in the Written Information Security Policy

Central Computer Management

Computer management software, such as KACE (Windows) and JAMF (Mac), are vital tools that enable ITS to maintain inventories of university-owned computers, configure consistent security settings, and keep systems up-to-date with the latest security patches.

Endpoint Protection

enSilo is an endpoint protection security tool that replaces the current antivirus software (Symantec and Malwarebytes). enSilo is designed to identify and stop malicious software such as viruses/malware, ransomware, and other suspicious activity on your machine. Unlike traditional antivirus/anti-malware software which may require a scan to be initiated, enSilo works seamlessly behind the scenes in real-time to detect and prevent unknown or malicious activity on your machine.
