LATTE Shell Support
What is the LATTE Shell?
The LATTE Shell refers to the general course outline or framing template that gives a new LATTE course some structure and design. Instructors can make any changes to the topic structure and naming conventions to make the shell outline fit their class needs. You can view examples of possible adjustments to the shell by self-enrolling into the sample course that shows various course organization formats.

Why use the LATTE Shell?
The Shell was originally developed in response to students’ need for structure and organization for online courses across the university. In a Spring 2021 student survey, 82% of first-year students reported that the LATTE shell layout helped to facilitate their learning experience in their courses. In the same survey, 90% of students reported that the weekly format made course readings and assignments clear for each class. The aim of the shell is to provide a clear and consistent learning experience for students.
Rabb School / GPS Faculty
Courses in the Graduate Professional Studies (GPS) programs use a different shell template than what is described on this page. For technical questions or problems with LATTE courses, GPS faculty should contact the Online Course Support Center. GPS faculty can access phone or chat support between 9am and 9pm Eastern and 24/7 support via email.
