Brandeis remembers Sen. Edward M. Kennedy
University President Jehuda Reinharz and Heller's Stuart Altman reflect on his legacy
The following is a statement from Brandeis President Jehuda Reinharz on the death of Sen. Edward M. Kennedy:
“Senator Kennedy was a great friend of higher education in general and to Brandeis University, specifically, on many occasions. We are very sad about losing the senator but, at the same time, our community joins countless others around the world in celebrating his remarkable life of public service.”
Brandeis honored Sen. Kennedy with the presentation of an honorary doctor of laws degree in 1975.
The Heller School's Stuart Altman also reflected on Kennedy's legacy for National Public Radio. He remembered the senator's lasting devotion to heath care in an "All Things Considered" segment.
