The first Women's and Gender Studies student conference will be held at the Women's Studies Research Center (WSRC) on Wednesday, May 13. During the conference, 14 students, consisting of a mixture of graduate students and undergrads, will present their original research on a myriad of inter-disciplinary topics. Following the student presentations, Rosalind Barnett, research director of the WSRC’s Community, Families & Work Program, will be speaking about current research soon to be published in her upcoming book, "The Truth about Boys and Girls."

“This conference will explore the relevance of feminism in today's society from an inter-disciplinary point of view,” said conference co-chair Elizabeth Perten, of the Music Department. “We are definitely looking forward to learning from these enlightened student presentations and sharing them with the Brandeis community. We are so proud that the first-ever Women's and Gender Studies student conference will be filled with such intellectually stimulating scholarship.”
