Brandeis chapter of Phi Beta Kappa elects 90 new members

The Brandeis University chapter of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society has announced the election of 90 new members this year.

Founded at the College of William and Mary in 1776, Phi Beta Kappa is the oldest and most prestigious undergraduate honor society in the country. Selection for membership is based on the quality of the candidates’ academic record and the breadth of their scholarly interests beyond their concentration.

"Each member of this year's class of inductees has reached beyond academic excellence in pursuit of their intellectual growth with a desire to develop deeper connections across disciplines and interests," said Wendy Cadge, dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and president of the Brandeis Phi Beta Kappa chapter. "They embody the liberal arts and I am very proud to welcome them to Phi Beta Kappa."

Of the new honorees, 82 are members of the Class of 2022, and eight are in the Class of 2023. An additional nine students in the Class of 2022 were inducted last year.
