'DEIS Impact Launch Party/Info Session

What's YOUR social justice? Thinking about planning an event for 'DEIS Impact 2018? We're looking for workshops, discussions, performances, speakers, films, exhibits...anything exploring or advancing social justice.



Come learn how to organize and obtain funding for a 'DEIS Impact event. Proposals due Thursday, October 12, 2017 by 11:59 pm (see below).

Social-justice themed refreshments will be served: vegetarian, kosher, organic, fair trade, local and eco-friendly.

A mandatory meeting for all 'DEIS Impact 2018 event organizers (at least one representative from each group must attend in order for your funding to be secured).

'DEIS Impact publicity guidelines, event organizing regulations, and other details about the festival will be discussed.

"One Person at a Time, One Humanity Closer": Tackling the Syrian Crisis From New Hampshire

As Syria's brutal conflict unfolded, one woman in New Hampshire decided to take action. Nadia Alawa founded NuDay Syria at her kitchen table in 2013. In just four years, it has grown to a multimillion-dollar humanitarian relief organization. Alawa has given a TED talk and has been featured on CBS, NECN's "The Morning Show" and in The Boston Globe. She was also recognized by The Huffington Post as one of the "Top Ten Muslims Who Save Lives."
