ECSF Alumna Receives Pauli Murray Fellowship

In October 2006, ECSF 2005 alumna Julia Resnitsky '07 was one of seven students to receive a newly-created Pauli Murray Fellowship. The fellowships will be awarded each year by the College of Arts and Sciences to students who have benefited from exploring diversity and pluralism both inside and outside the classroom. The award is named for Pauli Murray, a professor of American Studies at Brandeis from 1968 to 1973, and includes a stipend to develop a research project or a diversity, pluralism, and community-building project. The fellows meet monthly with Tona Hangen, professor of American studies, and ChaeRan Freeze, associate professor of Near Eastern and Judaic studies and women's and gender studies, to discuss ways to embrace diversity on campus.
