The Rabb School of Continuing Studies diploma ceremony will take place on Sunday, May 13 from 8-9:30 a.m. EDT. The ceremony will be held at the Faculty Club located on the main Brandeis University campus.
I am an August or February graduate and already received my diploma, can I still attend commencement?
Yes, August 2017, February 2018 and May 2018 graduates are invited to attend both commencement ceremonies and join in the celebration.
What are my lodging options?
A list of area hotels can be found here. We recommend that you book your reservations in advance due to the high volume of visitors to the Brandeis campus on commencement weekend.
Is there more than one ceremony that I can take part in?
Yes, there are two commencement ceremonies for graduates to attend. First is the Rabb School diploma ceremony at 8 a.m., where all degree recipients are called forward for recognition. Then there is the university’s main commencement ceremony at 10:30 a.m. We strongly encourage you to attend both!
Are tickets required for the Rabb School diploma ceremony?
There are no physical tickets required for entry to the Rabb School diploma ceremony. We do ask that you provide us with the number of guests attending. Graduates are allowed to bring a maximum of five guests to the ceremony.
Are tickets required for the main commencement ceremony?
Tickets are required for guests attending the main commencement ceremony. All guests, including children need a ticket for entry. Graduates do not need a ticket. You can request tickets when you submit your RSVP form. Graduates are allowed to request up to five guest tickets.
Can I request additional guest tickets?
Requests for additional tickets should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. We will try our best to accommodate all requests. Extra tickets for the main commencement ceremony may not be available until the week of commencement.
I need and/or have a guest that needs assisted access or seating for one or both ceremonies. What do I do?

I no longer plan to attend the Rabb School diploma ceremony or the main commencement ceremony. What should I do?

When do I pick up my cap and gown?
For those who live locally, regalia will be available for pick up on Thursday May 10th or Friday May 11th only! Regalia can be picked up from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Rabb School of Continuing Studies building located at 480 Old South Street.
What if I can’t pick up my cap and gown?
If you are unable to pick up your regalia in person, please email email@example.com for other arrangements.
Where is the Faculty Club?
It is located on the Brandeis University main campus. For those using a GPS to aid in travel, please use the address, 415 South Street, Waltham, MA 02453. Upon arriving at the main campus entrance, take a left and continue straight, past the three way stop sign and the Rose Art Museum. The Hassenfeld lot will be on the left and the Faculty Club will be on the right. (You will pass the Faculty Club entrance before approaching the Hassenfeld lot.) You can find a campus map here.
Where should I park for the commencement ceremonies?
The closest parking lot to the Faculty Club (where the Rabb School diploma ceremony is held) is the Hassenfeld lot. Please allow enough travel time as this day will be extremely busy and parking will be limited. Please refer to the campus map.
For those attending the main commencement ceremony, parking is not available at the Gosman Sports Center.
What are my dining options for the day of commencement?
A light breakfast will be served for graduates and their guests before the start of the Rabb School ceremony. Kosher options will be available. You can find a list of options for lunch time here.
What time do I need to arrive on the day of the ceremony and where do I go?
All graduates must arrive at the Faculty Club by 7:30 a.m. at the latest. This will allow enough time to check in. Graduates will line up at 7:45 a.m. and the ceremony will begin promptly at 8 a.m.
I am attending both the Rabb School diploma ceremony and the main commencement ceremony, what do I need to do?
You will still need to arrive at the Faculty Club by 7:30 a.m. Upon conclusion of the Rabb School ceremony, you will head over to the Gosman Sports Center. There will be shuttle busses around campus to transport graduates and guests to Gosman. Parking is not available at Gosman.
I am attending the main commencement ceremony, where do I line up?
You will need to enter the main doors of the Gosman Sports Center and head for the Shapiro Gym. There will be staff available to point you in the right direction. Once you arrive, please line up with the Rabb School graduates. Vice President Karen Muncaster will lead the Rabb School graduates.
Can I purchase photos from the professional photographer?
Yes! After the ceremony please contact Commencement Photos, Inc directly at 978-851-5924 and reference that you were part of the Brandeis University Rabb School diploma ceremony.
I am unable to attend the diploma ceremony. When are diplomas mailed out?
Diplomas are mailed from the Office of the University Registrar within one to two weeks after commencement. If you are still missing your diploma after that time period, please contact the Registrar’s Office directly at 781-736-2010 and reference that you were part of the Rabb School diploma ceremony.
I am new to the Waltham area. What is there to do outside of commencement services?
In addition to the on-campus events listed on the weekend schedule here, the Waltham area offers several attractions and activities listed here. Waltham is only 12 miles away from the city of Boston, which is accessible by local transportation including bus and commuter rail.
