Tate Herbert, Assistant Editor

Tate Herbert, an alumna of Brandeis University, joined the Institute as Assistant Editor in June. She oversees the efforts of the Justice Brandeis Law Project, coordinating a team of student researchers who investigate wrongful convictions and other flaws in the criminal justice system. She also conducts her own research into potential wrongful convictions and handles various communications and administrative tasks relative to the JBLP program.

As an undergraduate, Herbert was a part-time student research assistant for two years, during which she immersed herself in Fellows’ reporting projects and JBLP investigations. While completing her Bachelor’s degree in American Studies, she also studied journalism, edited the student newspaper, the Justice, and interned with FRONTLINE’s editorial team.
