IN THE SPOTLIGHT
LinkedIn Learning (formerly Lynda.com)
Monday, Aug. 12

On August 12, Information Technology Services will be upgrading Lynda.com accounts to LinkedIn Learning in order to take advantage of the newly-named service’s features and capability to work with LinkedIn to support your learning needs. Although you will notice changes to the longtime learning and professional development platform - primarily in the user interface - many of the features that are popular with Lynda.com users will remain intact. You do not need to take any action during the transition and you will not lose any information associated with your account as all admin and learner data including content, account settings, and histories will carry over to LinkedIn Learning. Faculty and staff will continue to have the opportunity to create custom playlists that can be shared as classroom resources in LATTE or directly link to specific videos within LinkedIn Learning.

LinkedIn Learning has more than 5,000 educational videos on topics ranging from using different technologies to building business and professional skills. All active Brandeis faculty, staff and students have free, unlimited access to this online repository of instructional videos. To learn more about the transition or to start taking a course, visit the ITS Website.

Assist Incoming Graduate Students

Every fall, Brandeis has a new cohort of graduate students coming from all around the world. To help assist with this exciting, and stressful transition, Graduate Student Affairs is asking the Brandeis community for additional support through our Give to Grads and Temporary Housing Host Program. Please view our Assist Incoming Graduate Students Webpage for more details.

Facilities Services will be repaving Chapel Road from August 3 to August 15 (weather dependent). During this time, the road will be closed intermittently to vehicle and pedestrian traffic. The Science Center gate will remain open during construction as an alternative means for vehicles to access the center of campus. Signage will be placed in strategic locations to increase visibility and redirect traffic while work is under way. During construction there will be a considerable number of construction vehicles and equipment on site. The project will involve some loud/noisy work, and our team will be working from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Monday - Friday and potentially during the weekends.
