Patricia Anne “Ricky” Pearl, MS’02, MS’05, of Sarasota, Florida, on Feb. 26. A recipient of a Paderewski Award as a teenage pianist, she turned down a scholarship to Juilliard to pursue a career in molecular biology, and was a research assistant at the Weizmann Institute of Science, in Rehovot, Israel. Survived by two sisters.

Kimberly A. Altavesta ’05, of Woburn, Massachusetts, on May 12. An EMT with campus emergency services at Brandeis, she went on to become a paramedic at Cataldo Ambulance Service, then built Massachusetts Bay Community College’s well-respected paramedicine program, which she chaired as an associate professor. Survived by her mother and sister.
