Sergio Aguilar, Staff, of Waltham, on March 28. Chief custodian of three buildings at Brandeis, where he was a beloved member of the community for more than 25 years, he is remembered for his humble personality, joyous smile, endless stories, love for his native El Salvador and devotion to family. Survived by wife Yolanda, three daughters and three granddaughters.

Eugene Goodheart, Faculty, Friend, of Watertown, Massachusetts, on April 9. A literary critic, essayist and public intellectual who wrote more than a dozen books affirming the ethical and humane value of literature, he was the Edytha Macy Gross Professor of the Humanities at Brandeis and directed the Brandeis Center for the Humanities. Survived by wife Joan Bamberger, two children and two grandchildren.

Doris C. Rosen, Staff, of Newton, Massachusetts, on May 5. An intrepid world traveler, opera buff and artist, she was devoted to students as administrator of Brandeis’ anthropology department for many years. Survived by five children, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Gregory John Shesko, Staff, of Needham, Massachusetts, on June 16. A Brandeis administrator for nearly 30 years, serving as associate dean of arts and sciences and assistant provost, he was a devoted layman of the Orthodox Church in America; led a successful campaign to renovate the Needham Free Public Library, and was elected library trustee nine times; collected books and prints; and took several hundred thousand photographs over the years. Survived by wife Marilyn, a daughter and two grandchildren.
